2025 SSIEM Academy Clinical and Laboratory Scientist courses

The 2025 SSIEM Academy Clinical and Laboratory Scientist courses will be held in Prague, Czech Republic, on the 28th and 29th April 2025.

The programme will feature a combination of joint clinical and laboratory scientist lectures and workshops. The topic of the Academy will be:

  • Mitochondrial Diseases
  • Glycogen Storage Disorders
  • Neurotransmitter Disorders
  • Congenital Disorders of Glycosylation

Course application is now open, applications close at 23:59 GMT on Friday 8th November 2024. Applications should be submitted through the Training section of the SSIEM website (www.ssiem.org

As places are limited, if the courses are oversubscribed there may be a selection process and completion of the application form will not guarantee a place on the course. 

Successful applicants will be asked to submit an abstract for a short case presentation relating to the topics of the Academy when registering. Up to 10 trainee cases will be selected for presentation at the 2025 Academy. 

Accepted delegates will be contacted by 20 December 2024

Accepted delegates must pay a nominal registration fee (50 Euro for SSIEM members or 100 Euro for non SSIEM members) for the Academy. Academy registration includes

  • Accommodation (including breakfast) for the nights of 27th and 28th April 2025
  • Attendance of the course including lunches on the 28th and 29th April 2025 
  • There will also be an evening meal for all Academy attendees on the 28th April 2025 (20 Euro fee). 

Please note participants will pay their own travel costs.
