Important New about JIEMS - Journal of Inborn Errors of Metabolism and Screening

19 nov, 2018

We are pleased to announce that the Journal of Inborn Errors of Metabolism and Screening (JIEMS), official journal of the Latin American Society of Inborn Errors of Metabolism and Neonatal Screening (SLEIMPN), after being successfully published by SAGE for 5 years, has changed to a new open access publishing platform.
JIEMS is now partnering with SciELO, a bibliographic database which was created to meet international scientific communication needs, including the ones of developing countries. SciELO has been following recommendations of ethics standards and accountability in scholarly communication established by national and international institutions for the past 20 years. Today, there are over 1,280 open access journals from 14 countries in the SciELO network and JIEMS is proud to be one of them. We want to assure all our collaborators that we do not expect any delays or publishing issues related to the transition from the previous publisher.
The benefits of this transition include a reduction in the cost of the article processing charge (APC). The material already published by JIEMS will be available at the JIEMS website (www.jiems-journal.org).
Please update your bookmarks with the new submission website https://mc04.manuscriptcentral.com/jiems-scielo, which is already online.
Original manuscripts, reviews, case reports and technical notes are welcome. The editorial process with peer-review will be maintained, and papers will continue to have open access. We would like to thank all colleagues of the IEM and screening communities who are considering this invitation, and we hope to see valuable work published at the new JIEMS’ platform in the near future.

Should you have any questions or comments, do not hesitate in reaching us by the e-mail jiems@jiems-journal.org.
